I was glad to spend time with Alzheimer's Research UK this past week, and discuss the vital importance of upping the ante on research into dementia. This is a subject very close to my heart, and I know very many people feel the same.
I am very supportive of their push for greater urgency in terms of funding research because I know what a difference this could make to families across East Renfrewshire and beyond.
I'm really proud that my constituency team are trained Dementia Friends, and we were the first organisation in Scotland to receive this virtual training at the start of lockdown. We certainly need to look at Dementia from a practical and support perspective, but we need to focus on this research too.
