HUGE congratulations to some amazing East Renfreshire residents, who came out top in the Young Scot Awards this evening.
WINNER of the Community Award, was Freya Young, who founded the Eaglesham Street Library, which has been such a fantastic resource for her local community during the pandemic. I know how hard Freya works, and this is so well deserved.
FINALIST in the Equality and Diversity category, was the S5 Prefect Team from Mearns Castle High School, for amazing work raising awareness of the plight of refugees, and gathering donations of food, toys and toiletries to support refugee families.
FINALIST in the Health and Wellbeing Category, were the volunteers of the amazing Include Me 2 Club who support people all over our local community, and have made such a difference to many people over the lockdown period, on top of the great work they already do.
Very well done to them all on this well deserved recognition.
