I’m hugely honoured to have been presented with an award by the World Uyghur Congress for the work I have been doing in support of the Uyghur Muslim people in China who are being so terribly mistreated and oppressed.
This is a genocide and needs to be called such. Those in the World Uyghur Congress, and in groups like Yet Again are working so hard to shine a light on the terrible situation, and in reality it is all of them rather than MPs like myself who deserve the thanks of us all.
I will continue to work tirelessly alongside my colleagues to support them and to support the Uyghur people, keep the spotlight on their plight, and press for action.
