Here is my weekly video update, letting you know about some of the things I have been working on this week:
- I made my first apperance in the virtual House of Commons, asking Matt Hancock about the contact tracing app.
- In addition, I led a cross party campaign, supported by 47 MPs from 7 different parties, aimed at closing some of the gaps in the chancellor's provisions which impact on small and medium busineses, including in East Renfrewshire.
- I have heard from many constituents concerned at the plans by BA to cut so many jobs, and have tabled parliamentary questions to seek more information, to better support them.
- The future of work and the need for work to be flexible and fair as we move forward has been the subject of a letter to the Chancellor, seeking assurances from him on furloughing and flexibility.
- Locally, it has been a highlight to hear the praise being heaped upon our binmen and shop workers, who are doing a brilliant job.
