This week marks both Volunteers Week and Carers Week.
We have a wonderful community of volunteers making a difference to others all over East Renfrewshire and I’m so grateful to them for all they do.
I was very fortunate to visit East Renfrewshire Carers Centre last week, to hear more about the very important work they do to support carers in our local area.
It was fantastic to learn more about their Dementia Walking Buddies project which will be very beneficial to participants, carers and the fantastic volunteers who work on the project. Farah, pictured, is the volunteer coordinator and it was great to speak to her about the project and how this work provides some additional support for those with caring responsibilities.
