Urgent Question 29th June 2021

Given the continued challenges with Covid and the difficulties this presents to the travel industry - an area in which many East Renfrewshire residents are employed - I asked today in Westminster about targeted funding for the industry, that the CEO of ABTA advised the Treasury Select Committee that significant further job losses will follow if furlough is not extended in this area. The Minister was not forthcoming, but there is no good in him passing the buck to the Chancellor - we need support for these travel industry jobs.
