UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities

Very pleased to have summed up this debate yesterday on the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. The issues which face many disabled people around the world have been compounded by Covid, and there is a need to acknowledge and act on this.

I was able to mention the excellent work of Disability Action ER, and I called upon the UK Government Minister to follow Scotland with plans to bring the UN Convention into law, so as to cement rights and responsibilities. I am grateful to Marion Fellows MP for bringing this important debate.
