Thornliebank Road bridge will be closed from next Tuesday 2 April until June 2025 so a replacement bridge can be installed.
The vital works are part of the East Kilbride railway enhancement project and will create enough space underneath to allow electric trains to run on the line between East Kilbride and Glasgow Central.
The road at the bridge will be closed and vehicles will be diverted via Thornliebank Road, Rouken Glen Road, Fenwick Road, Kilmarnock Road and Nether Auldhouse Road (and vice versa).
Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained throughout the majority of the works.
