I was asked to support this campaign by Alzheimers Research UK, and I am very pleased to do so. This is a topic very close to my heart, and I know a very important one to many people locally too. One of my first steps on being elected in 2019 was to ensure my staff team and I were trained by Alzheimer Scotland as 'Dementia Friends' to better support those affected and those who care for them.
As you can see, my means of keeping my brain active, away from work, is that I am learning Gaelic, which it is fair to say I am not making a huge success of. But I am doing a wee bit every day, and I am enjoying it. There will be something each one of us can do to keep our minds or bodies active, and support the aims of this campaign. Slàinte.
