Service of Solidarity

Very grateful have been asked to speak at a moving, inclusive and thought provoking Service of Solidarity at Giffnock and Newton Mearns Synagogue last night.

The contribution made to the service by First Minister Humza Yousaf was very welcome. His remarks about the impact on families and the innocent civilians in Israel and in Gaza caught up in the most horrific of circumstances, and on the need for us all to work for peace in the region were important and powerful.

To see so many in attendance and leaders of all religious faiths coming together in solidarity was very welcome, and I am grateful to the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities and Glasgow Jewish Representative Council for organising this event, and their work over recent days.
