Self-Employed Income Support Scheme

The Self-Employed Income Support Scheme comes to an end on Sunday. Yesterday, when questioned at the Liaison Committee, on whether there would be an extension, the Prime Minister said he would need to go away and look at the issue.

Aside from his woeful lack of knowledge, that is not good enough, and I have written to the Prime Minister to make it clear that he must work with the Chancellor as a matter of urgency to confirm an extension now, before millions of self-employed and freelance workers drop off an income cliff edge.

The Chancellor promised parity between employed and self employed support - this must be delivered, and fast.
