Scottish Government Covid Update

An estimated 1 in 20 have Covid.


Changes to self isolation rules from midnight tonight:

  • If you test positive, option to end isolation after 7 days if you do not have a fever AND have 2 negative LFT results - one on day 6 and one at least 24 hrs later.

  • Close contacts of positive cases under 18 yrs 4 months, and adults who are fully vaccinated (i.e. first, second, third if eligible or boosted) can end self isolation by taking a LFT test every day for 7 days. If not vaccinated you must still self isolate for 10 days and take a PCR.


New testing rules:

  • If you have symptoms - book PCR (even with positive LFT)

  • If no symptoms and LFT positive, from tomorrow, no requirement for PCR to confirm result. Isolate and report your result online for Test and Protect to begin contact tracing

  • Continue to limit contacts, prioritise social gatherings and meet no more than 3 households.
