Disabled people shouldn’t have to fight for the right benefits, but at the moment, too often they face assessment by someone without proper knowledge of their particular condition.
Fixing this would make the system at least a little less undignified, and save a lot of stress and effort in going through appeals - an incorrect benefits decision is overturned every minute of their working day, demonstrating very clearly that the system is not fit for purpose.
