Glad to be in Newton Mearns this morning to lay a memorial wreath on behalf of the people of East Renfrewshire.
The opportunity to speak to our local veterans is always much appreciated, and it was good to see members of the Legion Scotland for a cup of tea before the ceremony.
I was very grateful to be asked to join the Association of Jewish Ex Servicemen and Women to parade to the Newton Mearns Cenotaph and then attend a very moving service in Newton Mearns Synagogue thereafter.
