Today is the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. It is chilling to think that this happened so recently and so nearby. We must never forget the horrendous massacre of Bosnian Muslims, and this anniversary serves as a stark reminder of the need to stamp out prejudice and hatred in society.
I am grateful to Remembering Srebrenica - Scotland, for their tireless work with others to ensure this memory and awareness are a continued focus, and I am pleased to be a signatory to a cross-party Early Day Motion tabled by my colleague Margaret Ferrier MPmaking this point.
This beautiful Remembering Srebrenica pin used to belong to my late Mum. We need to remember generation to generation if we are to be sure of a better future.
