🚮 RECYCLING CENTRE UPDATE
East Renfrewshire Council has just announced arrangements for recycling centres to reopen from 1st June, in a structured way. This is what they have announced.
They have said the BARRHEAD recycling centre on Carlibar Road will reopen on Mon 1 June, operating Mon to Fri, 10am–3.30pm. So that the site can operate safely and to prevent traffic issues in the local area, each day it will only be open to residents from a specific East Ren area, as follows: • Mon – Barrhead, Liboside & Uplawmoor (Ward 1) • Tues – Newton Means North & Neilston (Ward 2) • Wed – Giffnock & Thornliebank (Ward 3) • Thurs – Clarkston, Netherlee & Williamwood (Ward 4) • Fri – Newton Mearns South & Eaglesham (Ward 5)
If you don’t know which of these areas your address falls in, you can find out your ward here: https://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/Find-my-councillor No white goods will be accepted for now. GREENHAGS recycling centre will operate at weekends from Sat 6 June, operating 10am-4pm (last entry at 3.45pm). It will only open at weekends for the time being to ensure any queuing traffic does not disrupt access for council vehicles depositing household waste during the week. Further information will be issued ahead of Saturday 6 June. For more info visit: https://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/coronavirus
