Many thanks to the campaigners at Never Again. Right Now., and their colleagues including representatives from EUJS - European Union of Jewish Students, Yet Again, Tibet Initiative Deutschland e.V., Stop Uyghur Genocide for asking me to speak at their event this week and highlight my concerns about the forthcoming Olympics in the context of the shocking treatment of the Uyghur Muslim population who are terribly persecuted by the Chinese Government, in addition to significant human rights concerns in Tibet, Hong Kong, and elsewhere. The Olympic Games must not be a whitewash for human rights abuses, and we have a duty to raise these, to ask questions, and to shine a spotlight on the plight of the Uyghurs and other people in this situation.
