I was fortunate to have a Prime Minister's Question this week, and I asked the PM about his punitive plans to force disabled people to work from home or face losing their benefits. One UK Government Minister described it as their "duty" to do so.
They clearly hadn't checked the availability of such jobs, but I have, and their thinking doesn't add up. Nonetheless these changes were set out formally in the Autumn Budget Statement the Chancellor delivered this afternoon.
Disabled people are already among the most vulnerable in our communities. This is a shameful and ill thought out policy, and needs an urgent rethink.
