Glad to join colleagues at a very sobering World Watchlist Open Doors UK & Ireland event today, highlighting the persecution of millions of Christians worldwide.
I have attended every World Watch List event since I have been elected, because freedom to follow any or no religion should be a basic human right, yet so many religious minority communities across the globe face persecution. I know that pressing for this basic freedom for all is something which matters to a great many people locally.
I will continue to focus on this issue, and I was very grateful for a useful meeting earlier this week with Open Doors, which will support this work.
