Menopause and the workplace

Almost 900,000 women in the UK have quit their jobs due to the menopause. The right to flexible work is a key part of tackling economic inactivity and would particularly benefit those managing menopause symptoms. Regrettably the Minister responding to my question was unwilling or unable to say if this has been discussed amongst Cabinet colleagues. We should be removing the onus on employees to request flexible working and instead, ensure that this is provided as a day one right by default - both businesses and employees would benefit.
