Unexpected but fantastic to have a chat with Steve Clark this evening as he joined an event celebrating 150 years of the SFA.
Brilliant to speak to him about football in East Ren, and mention local clubs including the mighty Arthurlie FC, Giffnock Soccer Centre, and Busby Girls AFC. Fabulous to hear he’s played at Neilston Juniors Football Club in the past, and he was very thoughtful and positive about the great strides being made for women and girls in football.
I really welcomed the chance to speak to officials about the importance of the rise of girls football and they were well aware of the sterling work being done locally by clubs including by Giffnock Soccer Centre and Busby Girls AFC.
Football and our community clubs make such a positive difference locally and it’s great to know this is appreciated so widely.
