Brilliant to meet representatives from the Scouts at Westminster, and delighted that I even managed to earn myself a badge for demonstrating some IT skills and teamwork!
The event was arranged to highlight the value of Scouts in developing the skills which employers will be looking for in young people - while having great fun at Cubs, Beavers, Scouts, and Explorers there's always learning going on in terms of teamwork, social skills, practical experience of many and varied skills, and self sufficiency being developed.
I know that in East Renfrewshire we have smashing Scouts Scotland groups, and they are led by the best of volunteers. Well done to them for all their efforts, and I know they are always very keen to hear from anyone who might be willing to get involved in volunteering.
