Further to earlier emails, Scottish Water is continuing work to restore normal water supplies to the G76, G77 and G46 postcode areas of East Renfrewshire. We carried out work on Christmas Day to resolve an operational issue at Picketlaw Water Treatment Works, which supplies Newton Mearns, Giffnock, Thornliebank and Clarkston areas.
However, a subsequent flow restriction from the outlet from a distribution tank is continuing to impact our ability to pressurise the water network and ensure consistent supply. Some customers are experiencing poor pressure, discolouration or a loss of supply. For those customers that do experience an issue, we have arranged for bottled water to be available to those that require it.
Bottled water continues to be available from Scottish Water staff at: Williamwood High School, Eaglesham Rd, Clarkston G76 8RF St. Clares Primary School Waterfoot Rd Newton Mearns G77 5GP
We sincerely apologise to those customers who have been impacted by this issue and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Our teams will continue to work until this is fully resolved.
We are keeping customers informed with the latest updates on our website and social media and supporting customers on our Priority Services Register.
