Fur Free Trade Campaign

Updated: Sep 10, 2021

I am one of over 100 MP colleagues across parties, who has signed a joint letter to the UK Government seeking a ban on the import and sale of animal fur.

I know this is an issue which many constituents feel very strongly about, and I agree with them. I can't see any reason why such a ban should not be brought into being. The fur trade is cruel and outdated - there is no humane means of fur farming.

In fact, as you can see from this RSPCA article, many High Street stores have already taken a decision not to sell fur products any longer, and there is significant public support for a ban, so surely the time is right to take decisive action.
