Pleased to support the excellent Fire and Rehire Bill which my colleague again Newlands MP has brought forward with the aim of preventing unscrupulous employers from forcing staff onto less favourable terms of employment and reduced pay levels with the threat of being fired. A number of constituents employed by British Airways have experienced this, and others employed by British Gas have been in touch to raise concerns that they may next. Using a pandemic as an excuse to tear up employment conditions is thoroughly unacceptable.
