Tomorrow is International Workers' Day, and I have laid down an Early Day Motion on the topic of work and equality.
My own background in HR management means I am very aware of the importance of robust effective systems to ensure everyone in the workplace is treated fairly, and that we have clear, legal ways of making sure that employees are not subject to any form of unfair treatment.
All employees deserve to work with dignity, fairness and equality of opportunity. This would be the wrong time to let employment standards slip, and as we look forward and think about what work will look like in the future, we need to make sure that it is fair.
