Cost of Living Crisis: WASPI Women

A totally wasted opportunity from the Chancellor today to take meaningful action to support those experiencing real worry about the Tory cost of living crisis.

A decade of austerity, and now soaring inflation and rocketing fuel and food bills have left people in grave difficulty and fearing worse to come. Instead of recognising this and acting to deliver support where it is most needed, we have had a pitiful window dressing exercise which will simply not do.

Whether it is children, families, single households, or pensioners like these WASPI women I met outside Westminster today, nothing we have heard today offers any comfort in terms of the worries people have about how they will manage.
