Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Whilst there have been welcome improvements in outcomes for childhood cancers, for too many, treatments have not advanced in the last forty years.

I am grateful to colleagues cross-party who have supported my Early Day Motion on September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and today I asked the UK Government to further focus on supporting research, which is the key to delivering treatments to improve the prospects of children and young people with cancer.

Without that focus on research, things will not get better, and I will continue to raise this issue to make sure that point is clearly understood.
