Cervical Cancer Awareness Week

This is Cervical Cancer Awareness Week, and a perfect time to remind everybody of the importance of cervical screening, as well as sharing information and support about what comes after cervical screening: the results.

  • Cervical screening saves lives, and can prevent cervical cancer.

  • But 1 in 3 do not attend their appointment when invited.

  • 220,000 women and people with a cervix are told they have cervical cell changes every year. Many more receive a diagnosis of HPV, but those receiving this news are often confused, ashamed, and scared.

Please go for your smear test when you are called. And please know there is help, advice and support out there, from the NHS, and from amazing charities like Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust.
