This week is Carers Week, and I was very grateful to be able to join a group of local carers at a session organised by the brilliant East Renfrewshire Carers Centre entitled: Comedy and Confidence. That time spent going way out of my comfort zone, and laughing (a lot) was the highlight of my week, and my fellow participants were amazing.
It's easy to say how much what Carers do matters, but it is true. The contribution Carers make to our communities is immense and it has not always been fully recognised. I think the commitments in the recent SNP Manifesto are very important in driving forward with practical means of helping our Carers, and while we're at it, we need to say thank you too.
