I know from a number of constituents whose families have been affected by brain tumours how pressing the need is to see an increased focus on research, so treatment options can be maximised. This is particularly the case for cases affecting children. The treatments for brain tumours in children have not advances for four decades, and this is plainly not good enough.
I was pleased to be able to make this point in the House of Commons this week. We must appreciate that further focus is needed on funding, and on supporting the research which is required.
