An Emergency Budget Is Long Overdue

An Emergency Budget is long overdue.

The UK Government could choose to implement a broad-based Windfall Tax, they could also opt to uprate benefits (as the Scottish Government has done with the limited social security benefits it administers). They could choose to re-introduce the £1040 taken out of Universal Credit payments, and to replicate the Scottish Government's game-changing Child Payment.

I know people cannot sustain these pressures. Along with colleagues I will continue to speak up about the urgent need for action, and to pressure the UK Government to help those who are struggling.
