50 Years of Pride

I'm pleased to have co-sponsored the annual Pride debate in the House of Commons alongside my colleague, Angela Crawley MP who spoke very powerfully.

I was glad to sum up the debate for the SNP - reflecting that Pride remains both a protest and a celebration, and that whilst much very welcome progress has been made, more remains to be done. As recent events in the USA show, human rights are not guaranteed and can be rowed back.

It was good to be able to record my admiration for the work of the TIE campaign, LGBT Youth Scotland and Out for Independence amongst others making a real difference.
